Gretchen is an award-winning R+D leader who helped grow more than $800M in organic, incremental annual revenue in a decades-long career inside legendary global innovation brand Herman Miller. Her career there included nine years on the R+D leadership team stewarding the global corporate research and insights function, as well as collaborative design studio partners. Together, the products Gretchen has been a part of commercializing have fueled broader business growth and set multiple industry reference points for design, performance, and lasting value while also capturing 52 awards — and counting. In 2019, Gretchen initiated a pivot from her extraordinary corporate career to return to hands-on design research and innovation in her own consulting practice. Today, she teaches, practices, and coaches others in the strategic business value of design and advises on building cultures of innovation.
